AURORA BOREALIS.

The aurora borealis, also called ''The Northern Lights'', is a multi-colored brilliant light show in the Earth's atmosphere that is caused by the collision of gas particles, with charged electrons from the sun's atmosphere. It is most often viewed at high latitudes close to the magnetic north pole. Usually is only seen in places like Alaska, Canada, and Norway. In addition we have also the aurora australis (Southern Lights) but in the southern hemisphere. Green is the most common color to see, while red is the rarest. In general colors can also appear to flow, from various shapes and dance in the sky. This happens because the collisions between the atoms and the charged particles are constanly shifting along the magnetic currents of the Earth's atmosphere, and the reactions of these collisions follow the currents. The peak of aurora activity typically follows an eleven sunspot cycle (for example, in this case, 2013 - 2024). During times of sunspots the sun has a very intense magnetic activity and the solar wind is strong. In past, many ancient myths talked about these lights, and some medieval civilizations feared them, as they believed they were a sign of war and famine. Or sometimes, they were considered as the spirit of their people. Today aurora borealis is recognized as one of the Seven natural Wonders of the World.
